Mayacama Wedding

I'm thrilled to share some photos from Jenny and Brian's wedding at Mayacama! I loved working with them! Every part of their day was beautiful, but it was during Jenny's dad's speech- when everyone was tearing up, myself included- that I saw a new perspective on weddings from a parent's point of view. You put so much into raising your kids and then you blink, and they are all grown up and you're at their wedding. Seeing them so in love, excited, happy, full of potential, and fulfilled, like an extension of yourself- but fully their own; you're flooded with memories, surrounded by the village that helped make it possible, you raise a glass to toast the newlyweds, beaming with a pride only the other parents fully understand. Thanks Jenny and Brian for letting me be a part of your lives. Check out their video by my friends at Uforia Films - it's epic and captures their story so perfectly.

Head over to Style Me Pretty to see the feature on their Rustic Northern California Wedding too.

Sonoma Engagement Photos at Gunbun

Check out these photos from Dani and Jon's Sonoma engagement shoot. We wanted something outdoors, casual, and in one of their favorite places: wine country. We hung out for the afternoon and took photos at the historic Gundlach Bundshu Winery in Sonoma. I can't wait for their wedding this weekend! I'm excited to be working along side with wedding planner- Duncan Reyes of Events by Design - for their wedding at Kohl Mansion this weekend. Duncan was kind enough to share Dani and Jon's story as well as some of the photos from their Sonoma engagement session on his blog too. Cheers!

The Strull Wedding

David and Alyssa are two of our best friends in the San Francisco. Along with many others, we had been anticipating their wedding for some time. Even before they were engaged we started referring to them as "the Strulls." They are a fantastic couple, and we could not be happier for them to be married now! Plus, their wedding was SO MUCH FUN! Their San Francisco wedding had an industrial, rustic and diy vibe that worked really well. The inside of the wedding venue, SOMArts, is sort of barn like with the exposed beams, and they had  gobo light projections along the walls that looked like branches. They made tons of rustic diy elements like the mason jars wrapped with twine, painted the mercury glass  jars, vintage books, and other props to deck out the tables with. We went out to the presidio to do their wedding portraits surrounded by the beautiful trees keeping with this theme. Tons of other friends pitched in to help pull the wedding together too, like master baker /food stylist Abby Stolfo, who made the wedding cake (It was literally the best wedding cake that I've ever put in my mouth too!), or Jesse Hagy  who did the music for the reception, Kristin Grunick did the day of coordinating, Alyssa's aunt, Pat Cambell made the floral arrangements, her parents di more than I can even list here,  I designed the wedding invites.... It was an amazing celebration with all of our friends. Thanks to Michael Rowley for shooting with me. Congratulation to the Strulls! We love you guys!!!David and Alyssa Strull wedding portrait

Lindsay and Marc's Napa Reception

After getting married in the South of France this summer, Lindsay and Marc had a California wedding reception at Paraduxx Winery in Napa. This was a really cool way of being able to celebrate their marriage with a larger group of family and friends since they couldn't all make it out to France for the wedding. I love all of the details that were put together by Lindsay, Marc, Lisa, Al and other helpers- like the floral arrangements they put together using local seasonal flowers. The flower arrangements were also housed in unique silver vessels that Lisa had been collecting for months in advance. Lindsay and Marc letterpress printed their own invitation suite for the event, as well as labels for bee's wax candle wedding favors (that they poured themselves). Amazing, right? It's like the spirit of DIY, but the execution of seasoned professionals. Oh yeah, as one of the winemakers at Paraduxx, Marc also helped make the wine for the evening. After spending a week in France with the Myers/Bregante families this summer, I knew this event was going to be next level awesome though. Enjoy.Paraduxx winery in Napa
